You think *I* have something useful to say?

Good grief! Why the heck are you reading this? Hundreds of thousands of people just like me use blogs to publish the most complete and utter drivel ever! Let's face it, most blogs are the 'chewing gum on the pavement of the Internet' - they're absolutely everywhere, but you mostly don't see them unless one happens to stick on your virtual shoe - and then you'll pay it some attention for a short while before moving on.

Sure, blogging is a 'phenomena' and some tap into the minds of people who deserve your time because they can tell you something new, useful or interesting, but mostly it's like being in a crowded room with everyone trying to get your attention - so the net result is that you don't hear anything or anyone. Sad to say that blogging is not going to go away and the chewing gum effect is only going to get worse - especially with sites like Digg that allow any blogger to quickly add any published article to their pile of daily, weekly or 'whenever I happen to remember that I set up a blog account ages ago' entries.

Digg promotes a 'warts and all', lazy approach to blogging and I have seen within the last few days many bloggers link up to articles that are inaccurate or just badly written - it's viral blogging sloppiness of the worst kind and it is also dangerous as it promotes a false sense of worthiness or validity for otherwise useless 'information' through sheer volume of appearances across 'the intarweb'.

So why the heck did I start a blog? Well, I am looking after my 5 year-old son who's not too well , I've been up since 4am and I can't sleep. That's it - beyond that I have nothing much to say and I sure as hell don't deserve much more of your time.

Do you care about this - I doubt it. Should I expect you to care - of course not!

I guess you have come across this blog by accident - well, I hope it filled a 30 second void in your life satisfactorily but in reality it probably didn't!

Move along please - nothing to see here.
